Hello
It has
been a little while since we have had contact. Lots of neat stuff has
happened for us!
Our meeting in February was small but productive. When I opened the meeting I asked all in attendance – “Where are we going? Why are we here?” Everyone pretty much answered the same. Regular meetings, CEU’s, growth in new areas, acquire new members, Education, Training, information.
I
explained to the group it is impossible to have three people doing all the
work and no one responding. We need a commitment from everyone or we need to
pack it in. We were fortunate to have a new member in the group. He
suggested we develop a mission statement for the group, set goals and offer
programs that will attract people. The group needs to develop a Needs
Assessment.
As of
today our Executive Board is as follows:
President
Debbie Cahill
Secretary Renato Sison
Treasurer Jeff Wiesendanger
Board
Moe Rockaway
Board
Tom Cunningham
Board Angelita Cook
There are
two open positions – Vice President and a Board position. If you are
interested please contact me.
On April
4, 2008 we had a Board Meeting. We were fortunate to have our former
President, Ray DeArmas in attendance. The meeting really fed off the meeting
we had in February. We came up with the following
Thursday,
June 12, 2008 2 pm
Thursday,
Sept 25, 2008 2 pm
Tuesday,
Nov 4, 2008 2 pm
For the
June meeting we are honored to have
Dianne Gravatt the Director
of Environmental Services and Grounds at Rutgers, the State University of NJ
and David L. DeHart
the Assistant Director of
Environmental Services at Rutgers, The State University of NJ. They are a
winning team and their presentation is an award winner!
In September we will have a
program on MRSA – When I first came into NEHA, MRSA was a “healthcare issue”.
No longer! It is developing in schools and gyms and the housekeeping staff
needs to know what they are dealing with.
Our November program is
timely. Team Cleaning. With cut backs and larger
spaces it is the way to go in cleaning.
More details will follow for the two later programs. For now we need to concentrate on our June meeting. We are privileged to have these two speakers share a program that won them awards! Mark your calendar, and plan to join us for this presentation. I will be sending reminders. Click here for directions.
If you have any questions or
suggestions please do not hesitate to contact me at 732-418-8630.
Looking forward to seeing you in June.
Sincerely,
Debbie Cahill
